1880s Lollipop Jumbo 8” Dome Cap Blown Glass Long Pike Victorian Christmas Ornament

Very early German blown glass long pike ornament, topped with an antique dome cap! Circa 1880s-90s.

These huge antique long stem glass ornaments are hard to find. This one is often referred to as a lollipop, or balloon, and measures an impressive 7.5 inches tall. Wow! The long stem pike is about 5 inches long, topping a 2.25 inch wide sphere which has been hand painted. White dots are scattered over the darker band with green squiggles over the silver. It is finished with an authentic period plastered dome cap with its hanging loop.

This rare, very old antique ornament is in excellent condition especially for its age, free of chips or cracks. There is some age related paint loss and light wear. The dome cap is still intact showing a bit of the white plaster adhesive.

This large early ornament is very striking, perfect for an authentic Victorian Christmas tree or display. Getting harder to find, a fine addition to any collection!
