1890s Antique German Christmas Ornament, Large 5.5″ Double Glass Striped Icicle Ornament

Wonderful large size antique German lobed striped icicle ornament, circa late 1890s to early 1900s.

This is a striking long vertical blown glass Christmas ornament measuring 5.5 inches tall. The top features a round sphere which tapers to a lobed point. Gold and pink stripes circle the silver icicle form. The original wire cord hanging loop is still attached, always a nice bonus on these antique ornaments which pre-date the modern metal ornament hook or metal caps. Our photos show both sides of this wonderful ornament. It is in very good antique condition, showing minor age related paint loss. The pike is chipped at top as shown in the photos. There is no cap, which was common on these very early German ornaments.
