1920s Antique German Clip On Bird Christmas Ornament, Songbird Blown Glass Clip Bird Ornament

Lovely antique German blown glass clip on songbird Christmas ornament, silver with teal blue wings. It is a beautiful and delicate bird which sits on a very old antique clip! Circa early 1920s.

The bird is highly sculptural with finely molded feather and wing details. The pointed black beak tip still has the tiny ball of glass where the glass blower ended. Wow! The tail feathers are the original spun glass.

It measures a large 7 inches wide, beak tip to tail end. The blown glass body is 5 inches. The original spun glass tail and spring legs are intact. The large metal clip is fancy and ornate, with a scallop fan shape which is quite rare and indicative of its age. It is in excellent antique condition free of chips or cracks. The colors are still bright and crisp with the usual oxidation at the tail end and clip. The glue has aged to a dark brown color. Please view all of the detailed photos to appreciate this very old ornament.

What a beautiful antique German songbird Christmas ornament. It is quite rare with the antique clip and large size. A must have for any antique German or figural Christmas ornament collection. A thoughtful gift for the bird lover!
