1920s Glass Bird Ornament Clip On Multi Color Songbird Vintage Bird Tree Ornament

Gorgeous deeply embossed early multi color songbird clip Christmas ornament, circa 1920s-1930s Germany.

It is a rare bumpy bird featuring finely molded feather and wing details. A silvered body features pale gold and green wings. The pinkish-red head is ribbed and bumpy too, finished with black dot eyes and a slightly upturned beak. The tail feathers are spun glass.

It measures 5.5 inches wide, beak tip to tail end. The blown glass body is 3.5 inches wide. The spun glass tail and spring leg are intact, attached firmly to the original metal clip. It is in very good vintage condition with minor age related wear. The pike end where the tail joins has a chip. The tail has been replaced over the years.

What a beautiful vintage glass songbird Christmas ornament, harder to find with the deep bumpy embossing and upturned beak!
