RESERVED Antique German Figural Glass Ornament Clip On Gnome, Glass Dwarf Gnome

Wonderful antique German blown glass clip on gnome Christmas ornament, circa 1940s.

He wears a dark green coat and a bright red pointed cap. The tip of the cap still has the tiny ball of glass where the glass blower ended. Wow! The face is nicely molded with a full beard. There is a fun branch of tuchsheer wrapping around the bottom surrounding the cup. (Tuchsheer is a German faux greenery used during this era that mimics pine boughs.) He measures 3.75 inches tall including the clip. The blown glass body is 2.75 inches tall which is inserted into the coiled cup. This fine ornament is in excellent antique condition free of chips, breaks, or cracks. There is age related oxidation to the clip.

This German gnome dwarf Christmas ornament is super rare, a must have for any antique German or figural Christmas ornament collection. A thoughtful gift for any Santa collector!

SIDE NOTE: This ornament was made by a Lauscha producer in the 1940s. Lauscha craftsmen were trying to reestablish their ornament shops just after the War. But unfortunately, the US put a huge tariff on ornaments coming from East Germany. This makes these quite rare and desirable.
