Antique HTF Large 4.5″ German Figural Glass Christmas Ornament Cornucopia with Toys, 1920s

Fabulous very early embossed mercury glass Christmas ornament, a large child’s cornucopia filled with fun toys! Circa 1920s-1930s Germany.

The bright silvered mercury glass is very thin, indicative of early Lauscha glass ornaments. A nicely molded 3D waffle cone cornucopia holds a doll, teddy bear, gift package, and other toys. It is the largest version of this particular ornament design, measuring 4.5 inches tall to the top of the cap, and 2 inches at its widest point. It is in excellent condition free of chips or cracks. There is some usual oxidation on the pike.

SIDE NOTE: This is a one of the classic antique German figural ornaments which is featured in many of the Christmas Collectibles reference books. It is one of the larger sizes made, at 4.5 inches tall. They were also made at 3.25 and 3.75 inches tall. This largest size is harder to find and is of greater value.
