Antique Multi Color Glass Bird with Spun Glass Crest and Tail Clip On Christmas Ornament 1930s

Hard to find colorful antique German blown glass clip on bird Christmas ornament featuring a wonderful spun glass crest and tail. Circa early 1930s.

The bird is highly sculptural with finely molded feather and wing details. The long pointed beak tip still has the tiny ball of glass where the glass blower ended. Wow! The tail feathers are the original spun glass as well as the beautiful crest on its head. The colorful bird has a bumpy silver body with red wings, cap, and beak. The underside features a soft pale pink on the throat and a blue-green belly and tail area. White stripes are hand painted on the red wing patches. So lovely!

It measures 5.5 inches wide, beak tip to tail end. The blown glass body is 3.5 inches wide. The original metal clip and spring legs are intact. It is in excellent antique condition free of chips or cracks with a bare minimum of paint loss, the colors still bright and crisp. There is some usual oxidation on the tail end and a spot of original glue on the tail.
