Large Heidt Bumpy Embossed Grapes on a Heart Christmas Ornament, USA Glass Ornament, 1930s

Wonderful large double sided Heidt heart with grapes Christmas ornament in fabulous condition. American made ornament, circa late 1930s by the German ornament maker Heidt!

This ornament has a unique history. Many German ornament makers fled Germany during the war, and a man named Heidt arrived in New York and created his ornament company there. This is one such classic ornament that he created.

This deeply embossed jumbo ornament is so beautiful with a large bumpy grape bunch in the center, framed with a ribbed floral scroll design. The design repeats on both sides.

It measures 3.25 inches tall and 2.75 inches wide. The pike is intact and is topped with a classic sawtooth metal Heidt style cap. These are a bit rare and hard to find. It is in excellent antique condition free of chips, cracks, or paint loss. The photos are reflecting colorful objects around them. The ornament is entirely silver and does not have any color accents. There is a bit of minor silvering loss and a hint of oxidation here and there.

This is a rare early USA glass Christmas ornament, a great addition to any American ornament collection. A must have for the Heidt collector, and a thoughtful gift for someone you love!
