Vintage German Clip On Bird Christmas Ornament, Cockatiel Parrot Blown Glass Bird Ornament

Gorgeous German blown glass clip on cockatiel bird Christmas ornament in a stunning array of color, circa 1950s.

It is simply wonderful, deeply molded and highly detailed. The bird is very sculptural with layers of feather and wing details. The large silver body has washes of bright blue, gold, and red on the wings. There is a nice spray of blue on the breast. It has a beautiful curved crown on its lime green head with three pink curved pikes. So beautiful! The tail feathers are the original spun glass.

It measures 6 inches, crown tip to tail end. The blown glass body is 4.5 inches with two spring legs attached to the original metal clip. It is in excellent vintage condition, the silvering and coloring strong, bright and crisp. It is free of chips or cracks, with the usual age related oxidation to the clip.
