Vintage Glass Bird Ornament Clip On Multi Color Songbird Christmas Ornament 1950s

Unique vintage German blown glass clip songbird Christmas ornament with striking colors. Circa early 1950s.

The bird is highly sculptural with finely molded feather and wing details. It features lovely turquoise wings, a gold and silver body with black stripes, a black cap, and a bright pink-magenta belly. The long pointed black beak tip still has the tiny ball of glass where the glass blower ended. Wow! The tail feathers are the original spun glass.

It measures 5 inches wide, beak tip to tail end. The blown glass body is 3.25 inches wide. The original spun glass tail and spring legs are intact. The original waffle style clip is attached. it is in excellent condition free of chips or cracks, the colors still bright and crisp. There are a couple of spots of minor paint loss.

What a beautiful vintage songbird Christmas ornament, a fine addition to any antique German or bird ornament collection.
