Vintage Mercury Glass Foil Poinsettia with Bells Christmas Ornament, Christmas Door Hanger, Japan Ornaments

Stunning large size 13″ layered foil poinsettia decoration with silver mercury glass strands ending with bright purple bells! Circa 1950s, Japan.

It is so bright and beautiful, starting with the large multi layer foil poinsettia flower. It measures 4.5 inches wide and features a 10-ray red foil layer, topped with a molded 6-ray silver foil cup. A pretty red tinsel spray is inside the cup, finished with three red mercury glass beads!

Three shiny silver mercury glass bead strands drape down from the flower. Each has a purple plastic bell attached at the end. The strands vary in length, and the bells measure 1.5 inches tall. The back includes a red wire loop for hanging on the tree or for use as a door hanger or other decoration.

It is in excellent condition, the foil still crisp and free of bends or tears. The glass colors are still crisp and and vibrant with minimal paint loss and no broken beads. This is somewhat amazing considering its age and the fragile nature of the thin glass. The bells are also in good condition with a bit of light fading here and there.
