Vintage Spun Cotton Batting Santa Christmas Ornament, Handmade Scrap Santa Ornament

Wonderful vintage cotton batting Santa Claus with scrap paper face. Home-crafted. U.S.A. 1950s. Nice!

Someone took a lot of time to create this cotton batting Santa Claus. It is very well done, with extremely soft hand made cotton fabric and a hand cut paper face. Santa’s expression is friendly and robust with his big smile and rosy cheeks. Red chenille is used to trim the arm and pant cuffs, and to create the hanging loop at the top. A wide metallic silver ribbon creates his belt.

It measures 7.5 inches tall to the top of the loop and 4 inches wide, and is in excellent vintage condition. The cotton has a lovely aged color, the paper scrap faded but still crisp. What a fantastic addition to your antique Christmas ornament collection, a thoughtful gift for the Santa collector!
