Vintage German Lametta Silver Icicles Tree Tinsel Christmas Decoration Mid Century

Fabulous unopened package of vintage German lametta “tinsel”, in its original charming paper wrap! Genuine silver foil tinsel Christmas Icicles, New Old Stock, circa 1970s.

It is unused in its original packaging which is decoratively printed with classic holiday imagery. Two angels walk through the snowy woods, one riding a spotted deer fawn. She holds a Christmas tree and the other holds a bright lantern to light the way. There is a die cut star window that shows the foil tinsel inside. The tinsel is bright silver and untarnished. It is flat and shows the usual crinkling which reflects the sparkling Christmas tree beautifully!

The back of the package features a die cut flap that tucks into itself with additional holiday graphics and a bar code which helps to date this. The package measures 3 1/8″ by 11″ and is very thin, about 1/16″. It is in amazing condition! There are no creases, tears, or stains to the paper packaging and the tinsel is unused. Foil tinsel is a superior Christmas tree decoration, as it fits better on the tree and is more attractive than modern plastic tinsel. It stays put securely on the branches where placed, and does not slide off like the flimsy Mylar types. It can be saved and used over and over from year to year.
