RESERVED 1900s Antique Embossed Ornament Rose on a Leaf Germany, Vintage Figural Glass Christmas Ornament

Incredibly molded early antique German Christmas ornament, a large 3D leaf with rose in a heart shape. So unique and hard to find. Circa 1900s.

The glass is very thin and fine, typical of this early era of German glass ornament making, where each ornament was individually blown by mouth into a highly detailed mold. It measures 3.5 inches tall to the top of the cap and is 2.25 inches wide.

It is a very light pearly color lacquer, unsilvered inside. A large rose flower emerges from a leaf background which shows so much detail. It features embossed leaf striations, textures, ribs, and veins which radiate out to the sides. The back side is raised and repeats the fine leaf pattern. The heart shape is classic, culminating in a pointed bottom tip which still has the tiny ball of glass where the glass blower ended. Wow!

It is in excellent antique condition and is topped with the original unmarked Lauscha style metal clap with flat hanging loop. There is the usual age related oxidation and a bit of paint loss on the pike area. There are a few tiny remnants of pink on the rose.

It is a wonderful and quite rare early German ornament, a unique addition to your antique Christmas ornament collection!
