Fabulous hard to find early antique German unsilvered mushroom Christmas ornament, circa 1900s.

This is a wonderful old lucky mushroom figural glass ornament, featuring fine German craftsmanship. The vintage blown glass mushroom has a long white stem which is not silvered inside, so it really looks like a mushroom growing in the forest. It is hand painted bright red with the white spots of the classic German mushroom, “Amanita muscaria”. This mushroom in Germany and most of Europe is considered a good luck charm, or “Glücksbringer”, (Good Luck bringer.) We show all sides of this amazing ornament.

It measures 3 inches tall to the top of the cap and is in excellent condition with no chips or breaks, a bit of minor age related paint loss. The original unmarked metal cap is present with its Lauscha style flat hanging loop. The pike is somewhat off center, adding some unique charm to this antique ornament!
