1900s Antique Scottie Dog German Glass Ornament, White Sitting Dog Terrier Figural Ornament
Wonderful very early antique German mercury glass dog ornament, featuring the popular and beloved sitting Scottish Terrier, circa 1900s.
This handsome old ornament features realistic molded details the Germans are known for. The Scotty Dog is in the classic sitting-up pose, ready for a treat. Details include a deeply molded face and wavy fur, hand painted black spots on its sides, a tail at the base, and a big bow collar. It could be a pretty female bow, or a male bow tie!
It measures 4 inches tall to the top of the loop and is in excellent antique condition, free of chips or cracks. The pike is intact and topped with its original Lauscha style metal cap. It still has a beautiful luster and shiny finish, the silvering still strong. This is a wonderful ornament at over 120 years old!
This excellent German Scottie Dog ornament will make a nice addition to any figural ornament collection or display, a special gift for the Scottish Terrier owner!
