Lovely early 1900s German tinsel and paper ornament, a blue robed angel in a pink rose wreath!

This is a beautiful antique Victorian Christmas ornament, featuring lovely high quality litho printing that the Germans are known for. The pretty blue robed angel has wonderful detailing. She holds a banner reading, “Glory to God in the Highest”. She has huge feather wings and is surround by pink-red roses. The paper litho is framed with silver tinsel cord which appears as a butterfly shape, with large ovals at the top and two smaller at the bottom. There is a tinsel spray at the top, and a wire hanging loop finishes this special large ornament.

It measures 7.25 inches wide by 7 inches tall and is in very good antique condition considering its age, well over 120 years old! The pastel colors are vibrant and crisp. The lead tinsel is still sparkly with some minor oxidation here and there. A few of the roses have gone missing over the years. What a fabulous antique paper tinsel angel Christmas ornament!
