1900s Pyro Wood Christmas Gift Box Poinsettia Theme Hand Crafted USA Wooden Box

Excellent antique wood pyrography poinsettia theme gift box. Hand crafted American made, circa early 1900s.

This is a striking and beautiful early wood pyro gift box, hand carved on two sides and in amazing condition. The craftsmanship is so fine, full of lovely detail to the red poinsettia flowers and background patterns. The box edges have a pyro hatch mark adding to the wonderful design. Original nails and metal hinges are still present. These were made as special holiday gift boxes which held gloves, hankies, candles, candy, or other small items.

It measures 8.75 x 3.5 x 1.25 inches and is in excellent antique condition free of scratches, wear, or stains. There are a few small black burn marks on the inside, original when made. The light wood grain patterns are still light and bright. You can see some rough hewn areas on the back, indicative of its hand crafted nature. It’s almost as-new, likely having never been used!

It’s a fabulous early example of fine American wood craftsmanship, of a time past where gift boxes were used year after year. This is a must-have for the antique Christmas collector!
