1920s Antique Large German Glass Christmas Ornament Angel Fish, Figural Fish Ornament

Wonderfully molded antique blown glass fish Christmas ornament in a large 4″ size and hard to find form! Circa early 1920s.

This is a superb large German angelfish ornament. The glass is very thin and fine, typical of this early era of German glass ornament making. It features a bright silvery-gold body with orange and red accents. It is deeply molded, showing graduating sizes of fish scales, gills, and fins. Its large eyes and expressive mouth are simply wonderful, in addition to the fancy fanned tail in the back.

It is a large size ornament at 4.5 inches tall to the top of the cap and 3.5 inches wide. The silvering is still very strong with light color accents. The tall pike acts as a top fin and is intact. It is topped with the original unmarked metal Lauscha style cap. Our photos show all sides of this amazing ornament.

It is in excellent condition free of chips or cracks. There is the usual oxidation on the pike end and cap. What a fabulous addition to your antique figural Christmas ornament collection. Highly sought after, a thoughtful gift for the collector!
