1930s Antique Clay Face Spun Cotton Santa Japan, Red Coat Santa Ornament with Brush Tree

Wonderful early Japan cotton long coat Santa with composition face, carrying a brush tree! Circa 1930s-1940s.

His classic red suit is made of soft red cotton, trimmed with thin white chenille. His hands are also cotton, the legs cotton wrapped wire. A black belt circles his waist and he holds a fun little green brush tree. The composition clay face is well made, full of nice hand painted and sculpted details and framed with a white cotton beard. It is finished with an original cotton cord hanging loop at the top. An original Made in Japan paper label is still attached at the bottom after all of these years!

He measures 5.5 inches tall to the top of his hat and is in wonderful antique condition, all elements intact and free of stains or marks. The red cotton has faded a bit, typical of this era.
