Antique German Large Ornament Joey Clown with a Stylized Body Glass Ornament 1920s RARE

Wonderful extra large blown glass Joey Clown Christmas ornament, unique with the tapered stylized body. Circa 1920s Germany.

He’s delightful with that scary Joey hand painted face peeking out of that the big ruffled collar! The body features a round large belly which is covered in white mica with three black buttons. The form tapers down to a long pink lobed teardrop with a pontil, an indicator of a mouth blown ornament. He is nicely molded with lots of detail to his facial features and the classic clown hat which becomes the pike.

It is topped with the original Lauscha style metal cap with flat hanging loop. He measures a large 6 inches tall to the top of the cap and is 2 inches wide. He is in excellent antique condition free of chips or cracks with a bit of paint loss on the hat.

This is a striking and harder to find old German glass clown Christmas ornament, a thoughtful gift for the clown collector!
