Antique Glass Christmas Garland with Bells 8′ Japan, Vintage Blue Glass Beaded Tree Garland

Lovely early bright blue mercury glass Christmas tree garland, over 8 feet long with lovely white bells! Circa 1930s, Japan.

The 10 white plastic bells are so pretty, featuring a red mercury glass pealer hanging from a green chenille cord. Each rim is lined with silver glitter. This style is one of the earlier bell garlands, as the later ones from the 1950s had no clapper. These are so nice! They alternate between rows of 1/4″ single blue beads. The beads are tightly strung and are one continuous strand, measuring 104 inches long (8.6 feet). The garland is finished with its original round cardboard ends, a wonderful embellishment still intact after all of these years!

It is in very good vintage condition with all 10 of the bells perfect, free of chips or cracks, the clapper intact. There is one broken bell (as the 11th bell) and we have left it attached as is, a part of its history. There are just a couple of small broken beads, which is somewhat amazing considering its age and the fragile nature of the thin glass. Please view the details photos of this amazing old garland.

This is a really fun and hard to find garland for your vintage Christmas tree or holiday decorating this year, a wonderful addition to any Japan Christmas collection!
