Antique Glass Christmas Garland with Bells Japan Mercury Glass Beaded Tree Garland 1930s

Unique very early mercury glass Christmas tree garland with lovely white glittered bells in excellent condition, circa 1930s, Japan.

The 11 white plastic bells are so pretty, featuring a red mercury glass pealer hanging from a green chenille cord. Each rim is lined with silver glitter. They alternate between rows of bright 1/4″ gold beads, all are tightly strung.

It is one long continuous strand, measuring 84 inches long and is in excellent condition. The lacquer paint is still vibrant with minimal paint loss. There are just a few small broken beads, which is somewhat amazing considering its age and the fragile nature of the thin glass. All 11 bells are in perfect condition, with one extra broken bell which we have left as is–a part of its history. A really fun and hard to find garland for your vintage Christmas tree or holiday decorating this year, a wonderful addition to any Japan Christmas collection!
