1920s Antique German Christmas Ornament Diamond Clown, Figural Mercury Glass Clown Ornament

Harder to find antique German figural clown ornament in the large diamond shape, circa 1920s.

He has nicely molded details with a two color clown suit, a ruffled collar, and a big belly. What a wonderful kind face he has! The hat forms the tall pike, indicative of its age. He holds his hands in his pockets and his feet come to a pointed shape at the bottom. This form is referred to as the Diamond Clown shape. It retains the original Lauscha style cap with flat hanging loop.

This early German clown ornament is a large size measuring 4.25 inches tall. He is in excellent antique condition, free of chips or cracks, the pike intact. There is some age related paint loss.
