1900s Antique Glass Ornament Merry Christmas Embossed Baby Rattle Two Sided Christmas Ornament

Very early classic German two sided glass Christmas ornament, a sweet pink baby rattle, circa 1900s.

It is a pretty light pink over silver, nicely molded with an all over bumpy pattern which comes to a lobed bottom. The center horizontal band is smooth with one side embossed “Merry” and the other side “Xmas”. The top of the ornament has vertical ridges that flow to the tall smooth pike. It measures 3.25 inches tall to the top of the pike; there is no cap which is somewhat common with these very early ornaments. It is in excellent antique condition free of chips, cracks, or breaks. There is a bit of the usual age related darkening on the upper pike. (Our photo shows both sides of this one ornament.)
