Antique Jumbo Glass Teardrop Christmas Ornament Germany, Large Mica Squiggles Ornament 1930s

Elegant antique extra large German glass mica tear drop ornament with hand painted decoration! Circa 1920s-1930s.

What a delightful early jumbo blown glass Christmas ornament! It is a large size at 4.5 inches tall to the top of the cap and 2.75 inches at its widest point. The light gold ornament features pretty thick white mica squiggles on the top and bottom. Two center bands of mica dots circle the form alternating with stripes of dark gold for added interest. So pretty!

The glass is very thin and fine, typical of these early German ornaments. It comes to a fine point at the bottom and retains the original tiny ball of glass where the glass blower ended. Wow! It is in very good antique condition with minimum wear and a bit of crazing. Our photos show all sides, turning in a clockwise motion.
