Antique Large German Glass Ornament Kite Head Dragonface, Vintage Figural Christmas Ornaments, 1940s

Amazing and very hard to find large Lauscha Germany blown glass figural Christmas ornament, the classic vintage “Kite Head” or in Germany, “Dragonface”.

It is very striking in appearance, featuring all over bright silver mercury glass with a hand painted face. Pink cheeks, a big red mouth, and black arching eyebrows are detailed nicely. He’s kind of scary! He has a long pointed chin and a tall pike which is intact.

This rare Lauscha mercury glass figural Christmas ornament measures a large 4.75 inches tall to the top of the cap. The pike is in great shape, and is topped with the original unmarked Lauscha style metal cap with flat hanging loop. This special rare mid century Kite Head Dragonface ornament is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. The hand painted face still holds lots of detail. It is very nicely molded and the silvering is still very strong.

What a fabulous vintage German blown mercury glass Kite Head Christmas ornament. A must have for any antique Germany or vintage figural Christmas ornament collection. Very scarce!
