Antique Spun Cotton Christmas Ornament Little Girl Candy Cane, RARE German Ornaments

A beautiful antique German cotton ornament, featuring a sweet little girl holding a candy cane. Love those big blue eyes! Circa 1920s to early 1930s.

Her long white winter coat is made of cotton batting and it has fun little red polka dots painted on here and there. The face is hand sculpted and hand painted composition. It is framed with a pointed white hood which has a cotton hanging loop on the end, plus a second cotton stringer. It’s so nice to have these old period embellishments, a part of its history! The arms are bent to hold the red and white chenille candy cane. Her boots are black spun cotton wrapped around a stiff frame, likely wire. There are still a few sprinkles of sparkly venetian dew glass which acts as snow flakes. Wonderful!

This antique German figural girl ornament measures 4 tall and is in excellent antique condition. There is some light aging toning of the cotton but otherwise perfect. What a lovely addition to your antique Christmas ornament collection, a thoughtful gift for someone special!
