Vintage Corning Glass Christmas Ornaments Bumpy Diamond Lot of 2, Prewar US of A 1940s
TWO vintage hard to find prewar Corning round diamond ornaments in two sizes. American made glass ornaments, circa early 1940s.
These are wonderful vintage American ornaments that were first released in 1939 and discontinued after the war. Designed by Steuben Glass for Corning, they feature a nicely molded vertical bumpy diamond pattern. Two rows feature embossed dots along the top and center which flow around the form. The bottom consists of several lightly embossed concentric rings. Both ornaments retain their original smooth metal cap which reads “Made in U.S. of A.” which helps to date these. This lot features two different sizes of this classic early pattern. The larger silver is 1.75″ wide and the gold ornament is 1.5″ wide. Both are in good antique condition free of chips, cracks, or paint loss. Both show oxidation at the top and some age related spotting here and there on the silver.
These are wonderful classic prewar Corning Christmas ornaments, a good value as a set of two!
