Italy Faux Mercury Glass Ornaments IOB, 3 Unbreakable Pet Friendly Christmas Ornaments 1950s

Lovely set of fine Italian hand decorated plastic glitter Christmas ornaments in original box, circa 1950s. Perfect for a pet friendly tree!

Vintage Italian Christmas ornaments were created by masters with great attention to quality and detail that the Italians are known for. These three unbreakable plastic round ornaments feature vivid colors and striking patterns hand finished with glitter, reminiscent of the fancy mercury glass ornaments.

Each ornament measures 2.75 wide and is topped with its original Italy style cap. They sit securely in their perfect original box with tray insert. All are in excellent vintage condition free of chips or cracks, likely rarely used or displayed. The box is in mint condition free of wear. It retains original store pricing stickers on one side, always a nice bonus on these old vintage finds!

SIDE NOTE: Italy likely began producing faux mercury glass ornaments in the form of unbreakable painted plastic sometime after the country’s glass ornament industry was reestablished following World War II. Italian-made, unbreakable ornaments became widely available on the American market in the early 1950s.
