RARE Antique German Glass Christmas Ornament Santa Holding Bag and Bell

This is a very hard to find German Santa ornament in fabulous condition! Circa early 1900s.

This version with a long coat Santa holding a bell and large sack is an uncommon form. He is simply wonderful, full of nicely molded details. The expressive face features a long mustache and beard. His hands are held in front, one of them holding the large bell which is quite rare. The large bag is filled with toys which are peeking out.

He measures 3 inches tall and comes to a lobed bottom. An original Lauscha hanging loop is inserted into the pike; there is no cap, which was somewhat common with these very early ornaments. It is in very good antique condition free of chips or cracks. There is the usual oxidation at the pike area and some silvering loss over these 125 years!

What a unique and rare antique blown glass Santa Christmas ornament. A must have for any antique German or figural Christmas ornament collection. A thoughtful gift for the Santa collector!
