Vintage Beaded Glass Garland Unique Faceted Beads 8′ Japan Mercury Glass Tree Garland

Striking mercury glass Christmas tree garland, over 8’ long with unique faceted bumpy beads, circa 1930s, early Japan. Rare!

There are three different multi-faceted beads and this style is harder to find. The round large silver beads measure a half inch and feature 12 faceted sides. Large red elongated beads are also half inch long and feature six panels. The most interesting bead looks like a bumpy double dice, each square a quarter inch and in two colors. These are a gorgeous bright turquoise and lime green. The original silver cardboard star ends are still attached. These paper embellishments are always a nice bonus on these old vintage finds!

It measures 8.3’ long (100 inches) and is in excellent antique condition. The colors are still crisp and bright with a bit of the usual age related paint loss on the red beads. There are just a couple of broken beads, amazing after all of these years! (There is one 2 inch blank string strand at one end which is not included in the measurement length.)
