Vintage Ceramic Santa Cookie Jar Shafford Japan, 1950s Retro Christmas Decorations

Hard to find large vintage Shafford ceramic Santa cookie jar, 1950s Christmas. Wonderful detailed design and high quality that Shafford is known for.

He’s a finely molded red coat Santa Claus, holding a candy cane with green mittens. He has a kind, hand painted face and a full bushy beard framing blushed cheeks.  The bottom features the original silver foil medallion label, “Styled by Shafford Japan”. It measures 8 inches tall by 6 inches wide and is cold painted over glossy ceramic, showing a bit of crazing. It is in excellent overall condition except for one repaired chip on the right side, bottom edge. (Our last photo shows a close-up detail of this. We have priced this piece accordingly.)

He’s such a delight and a rare Shafford piece. Perfect for serving holiday cookies and other treats. Fun to use alongside Santa’s cookie plate!
