Vintage Christmas Stocking Snowman, Large Needlepoint Velvet Christmas Stocking

Wonderful large size vintage needlepoint Christmas stocking, featuring a smiling snowman surrounded by falling snow! Circa 1980s.

This is a wonderful mid century Christmas stocking and it is in excellent condition. It appears to be done in needlepoint with thick, tight knots making up the colorful holiday design. He’s the classic snowman, complete with carrot nose and tree branch arms. He has a row of brightly colored buttons and wears his black top hat. Big white snowflakes are scattered against the deep blue background. The top cuff is white with a pretty holly berry design.

The stocking is edged in red velvet and the back is also red velvet. The inside is lined with a nice red cotton fabric and it is finished with a velvet hanging loop. The stocking appears to be machine stitched. It measures 20 inches long from the top left corner to the bottom of the toe tip. It is in excellent condition free of stains, marks, tears, or odors.
