Vintage Santa Ornament Egg Art Diorama, Indent Goose Egg Clown Christmas Ornament

This is a delightful vintage jeweled and beaded goose egg indent diorama clown ornament, featuring a fun cotton and chenille Santa peeking out of the center! Circa 1940s-1950s. Goose eggs are about double the size of a regular egg and are very sturdy, perfect for this type of vintage Christmas craft creation.

It is a fantastic chenille figure composed of a spun cotton head and an animated, hand painted face featuring long eyelashes and a red pin nose. His body is made entirely of colorful chenillle and he wears a pointed red felt hat rimmed in white. He stands on snow which is made of a small piece of white styrofoam.

The egg is painted red on the outside and gold on the inside. The outside is elaborately decorated with jewels and trims. The opening is rimmed in vintage gold metallic curly-q picot trim. Two additional rows of gold picot adorn the back which features two rows of alternating white and emerald green faceted jewel beads. It is finished with one large faceted green diamond bead in the center. The top is finished with its gold hanging loop. This vintage egg diorama Christmas ornament measures 2.5 inches tall, not including the loop. It is in very good condition, which is amazing for its age and fragile nature. There are a couple of minor hairline cracks at the edge which are barely noticeable, and there is a bit of clear glue showing here and there.
