Vintage Figural Glass Ornament Large Frog Germany, Mercury Glass Sitting Frog Ornament

Wonderful very early large antique German figural glass frog ornament, circa 1930s.

It features incredible realistic molded details the Germans are known for. Look closely to see the bumpy skin texture, gills, and the linear bones in the legs. Early ornaments like this have so much more detail than the later frogs. And, it is a hard to find large size measuring 4 inches wide.

It is hand painted with washes of green and gold, finished with a bright red mouth and black eyes. The pike makes up the tail. It is in excellent antique condition, with the ornament free of chips or cracks, the coloring still strong and free of paint loss.

This large antique glass frog ornament will make a nice addition to any figural ornament collection or display, a special gift for the Christmas collector!
