Vintage German Glass Ornament Boys Head, Boy in Nightcap Figural Christmas Ornament

Wonderful vintage blown glass figural Christmas ornament, the classic “Boy Head” or “Boy in a Nightcap”, 1930s Germany.

It is wonderfully molded, featuring a hand painted face with pink cheeks, a rosy red mouth, black eyes and eyebrows. He even has small dimples in his cheeks! Blonde curly hair emerges from under the red nightcap. The end of the nightcap has a gold tassle which can be seen in the side view. This is definitely a nightcap, not merely a red hat.

It measures 2.5 inches tall to the top of the cap and is 1.75 inches wide. The pike is topped with the original unmarked Lauscha style metal cap with flat hanging loop. It is in excellent condition free of chips or cracks with minimal paint loss.
