Vintage Glass Bird on Nest Ornament, Czech Beaded Tinsel Glass Christmas Ornament

Striking antique Czech beaded glass bird on nest Christmas ornament, circa 1950s-1960s.

This is a very special one of a kind antique vintage blown glass mama bird ornament, sitting on her silver bead nest. She is simply wonderful, with a bright silver body and white mica wing patches. The small beak comes to a fine point. The bird is highly sculptural with finely molded feather and wing details. The tail feathers are the original spun glass in a silvery-white color. The hand painted black dot eyes finish off this wonderful antique glass bird.

Her nest is very pretty and sparkly. The base is a 1.25 inch yellow glass sphere with two fancy bottom beads. The nest is a ring of larger silver mercury glass beads framed with tinsel swirls. Our lovely bird sits in the middle with her watchful eyes! She is surrounded by a silver tinsel loop with a beaded hanging strand.

It measures 7 inches tall from the top of the hanging bead to the bottom tip of the silver diamond bead. The tinsel loop is 2.25 inches at its widest point. The glass bird measures 4.25 inches wide beak tip to tail end, with the glass body being 2.75 inches wide. It is in amazing, excellent condition free of chips, breaks, or damage. There is some usual oxidation on the tail end.
