Vintage Glass Bird Ornament Clip On Multi Color Songbird Christmas Ornament 1950s

Sweet vintage German blown glass clip songbird Christmas ornament with lovely colors. Circa 1950s-60s.

The bird features finely molded feather and wing details. It has lovely turquoise and gold wings over a silver body with a nice blush of red on the neck and breast. The long pointed black beak tip still has the tiny ball of glass where the glass blower ended. Wow! The tail feathers are the original spun glass.

It measures 5.5 inches wide, beak tip to tail end. The blown glass body is 3.5 inches wide. The original spun glass tail and spring leg are intact. The original metal clip is attached which is marked West Germany. It is in very good vintage condition free of chips or cracks, the colors still bright and crisp. There are a couple of spots of minor paint loss on the beak and the usual oxidation at the tail end.

What a beautiful vintage songbird Christmas ornament, a fine addition to any antique German or bird ornament collection.
