1920s Antique Blown Glass Christmas Ornament Peacock, German Figural Glass Bird Ornament

Lovely early antique German glass peacock bird ornament with wonderful color and nicely molded details! Circa 1920s.

It is simply gorgeous with its fully open and spread wings. The silvered body is embossed with feathers, ridges, and bumps. The front is painted a light gold wash with a circle of large teal-green dots on the outer feather tips. The body is the same teal-green with bumpy pink sides and a bright pink crown on its head. The sides are lobed and the bright silver back features a deep bumpy surface. The tall pike is topped with an original Lauscha style metal cap.

The glass is very thin and fine, typical of this era of German glass ornament making. It measures 3.25 inches tall to the top of the cap. The ornament is in excellent antique condition free of chips or cracks, the silvering still bright and strong.

No ornament collection is complete without an antique peacock or two, a nice gift for the bird lover!
