Vintage Patriotic Mercury Glass Garland Torpedo Beads Japan Antique Beaded Glass Tree Garland

Fabulous vintage hand strung patriotic mercury glass Christmas garland, 7.5 feet long with fancy torpedo beads, and in near perfect condition. Circa 1950s, Japan.

The red lacquer torpedo beads measure one inch wide and have a nice bumpy center band. They alternate with blue faceted polyhedron beads and silver double beads. The faceted beads are blown of blue glass, with no lacquer to wear or flake! They measure a half inch, and the joined silver double beads are about a quarter inch each.

It is one long continuous strand, measuring 7.5′ long (91 inches) and is in excellent condition. The colors are still crisp and and vibrant. There are just a couple of broken beads, which is somewhat amazing considering its age and the fragile nature of the thin glass. A few of the beads show a small bit of wear and paint loss, but very minor. A great garland for any Patriotic Red, White & Blue Tree or decor!
