Antique German Paper Mache Santa Belsnickel Father Christmas Holding a Tree Christmas Ornament, 1920s

Delightful very early paper mache red coat Father Christmas Belsnickel ornament with wonderful details, circa 1920s.

He stands in the classic pose with his hands held in front, holding a fresh cut Christmas tree over his shoulder. His face is wonderfully molded with a bushy beard, rosy cheeks, and expressive blue eyes. His coat cuffs are trimmed in white and he wears black boots. The ornament features a bit of light gold glitter dusting here and there as a lovely accent. It is topped with a gold tube bead for hanging. It measures 3.5 inches tall and is in excellent antique condition free of wear or damage.

This classic antique figural ornament will make a nice addition to any vintage Christmas ornament collection or display, a thoughtful gift for the Santa collector!
