Vintage Glass Dome Diorama Christmas Ornament, German Santa Scrap Mica Glass Ornament

Wonderful vintage hand painted diorama ornament, featuring a glass dome sphere with a highly detailed Santa Claus scrap. West Germany, circa 1960s.

It’s a unique oval shape made of clear glass which has been hand painted with a frame of green holly and red berries. The back, sides, and bottom are coated in white mica. The interior Santa scrap has so much detail, featuring a classic red coat Santa with long flowing white beard. He carries his big sack over his shoulder and a glowing lamp in one hand.

It measures 3.5 inches tall to the top of the cap and has a 1.5 inch wide paper base. It retains its original metal cap which is stamped West Germany. It is in excellent vintage condition free of chips or cracks, a bit of age related oxidation to the mica. What a fantastic addition to any Santa ornament collection, a thoughtful gift for the collector!
