Antique German Double Glass Christmas Ornament Santa Bust on Ball, 1920s

A hard to find antique German figural glass Santa bust on a sphere Christmas ornament in wonderful condition, circa 1920s.

This rare combination ornament is so delightful with Santa in his classic red suit appearing to emerge from the big gold glass ball. He has an expressive hand painted face and fluffy white beard. His suit coat and hat rim have a bumpy texture, adding to the charm. The gold sphere has a tiny pontil at the bottom, indicative a blown glass ornament. It measures 3 inches tall by 2 inches wide and is in excellent antique condition free of chips or cracks. The pike is intact and is topped with the unmarked Lauscha style metal cap. There is a bit of minor paint loss.
