1900s Large Antique German Glass Ornament Round Snow Covered House Christmas Ornament

Hard to find very early German Christmas ornament, an extra large four sided Round Snow Covered House with icicles! Circa 1900s-1920s.

It is one of the earliest versions of this ornament, with later forms smaller and less detailed. And, the glass is super thin and fine, typical of the very early ornaments. It is wonderfully molded with embossed brickwork and arched windows on each of the four rounded panels. The round snowy roof has very nice snow heaps with large icicles hanging between the windows. The bottom is rounded and lobed as well as the top. It retains its original unmarked Lauscha style metal cap.

This striking silver and blue ornament measures 4.5 inches tall to the top of the cap and 2.25 inches wide. It is in excellent condition free of chips or cracks, the silvering very strong. Just an amazing piece at over 100 years old.
